Hi just bought some powerflex steering rack bushes and thought it would be a quick job after seeing a youtube video. not so the the nuts on my van were very rusty and a 13mm kept slipping, ended up using molegrips, when I did get the bolts out the power steering pipes and the steering shaft ment little play for removing and installing the bushes. I decided to bolt the rack up again with new nuts and have another go when I have more time and hopefully better weather.
Has anyone got any tips for the job please.

My only tip is to make sure the steering wheel lock doesn't come on. I spent ages wondering why I couldn't get everything to fit and then found the steering wheel lock was on.

There's a good guide to fitting here:

Make sure to lubricate the bushes and s/s sleeves with the supplied grease.

Thanks for the tips guys, the guide is for a manual rack only problem with the power rack is the power pipework that holds it pretty solid to the frame, didn't want to mess with the pipework really but see how it goes.

When I first attempted to do mine, the bolts were very badly corroded and limited access at the rear meant I couldn't get appropriate tools on the heads so I left it for a while as I knew I'd be dropping the fuel tank soon. With the tank out of the way the job was so much easier, if I remember correctly I had to get in there with the grinder to cut the heads off but I'm not 100%. I hope you don't have this problem as it should be a really quick and easy job to do.

The nuts were a problem as they were badly rusted but I managed to get some big mole grips on them and got them undone.
