Starter motor solenoid automatic

Post by Mooney »

Hi, I replaced my solenoid earlier this year and it's broken again. Ordered a new one, install it and it wont activate the pinion. When I seat the metal part that hooks on the pinion it seems to dislodge when screwing on the rest of the solenoid. I've tried it various times such as screwing it in with the pinion activated but when I release it, it locks into place and i can't get it to pop out again.

Could you give us a better idea of what actually happens when you turn the key, and what you have tried so far,? To be honest I don’t understand what I’m reading with your post, but that’s maybe because I’m incompetent...
