hi there, thinking of upgrading my final gear on my 1.6td 5 speed box to help with crussing and putting less stress on the old girl, anybody dun it?
and can anyone recommend anybody for the job in derby/notts area. thanks all kotsy

if you have a 3H or a ASS gearbox then you are correctly geared, unless you up the power you will gain nothing by upping the gearing. Try putting on slightly bigger tyres and see how it drives; that's a cheaper and easily reversible option.

Seconded on bigger tyres. Made a HUGE difference to the gearing! :D

Get an chargecooler on the JX and enjoy a lot more power for very little cost or effort!
Thats what Oettinger did and suddenly you have circa 80hp to pull a taller gear or tyres...
