Leaking Expansion Header Tank(behind flap)-easy replacement?

Post by nesty »

I think my (early) expansion water tank is leaking (behind flap), probably original and and developed a leak at where the pipe goes in, replaced the pipe and jubilee clip and still leaking.

Is replacement fairly straight forward?

Very! You won't be disturbing anything. Just a dribble, no bleeding etc necessary :-)

yes just two screws you can see from the outside, can be hard to access as bumper is in th way and they are large pozi heads, I replaced with hex head bolts to make it easier to refit.

From memory it clips onto a metal tag also but the two screws is all it takes to get it off.

Cheers many thanks. I think this leaking been going on for a while, as the expansion goes dry, but the main header with dalek cap often full!
