Engine Number?

Post by Damo66 »

Hi,

New to all this so please be gentle!

Just picked up an early water-cooled hi-top and getting acquainted. Have just found engine number (eventually) and wondered if anyone can help.

It looks like a DG that has been changed to a DF can anyone explain this? I'm guessing that its a replacement unit.

Thanks....

Haven't worked out how to load a picture yet!

The engine number alone means nowt, the cases are interchangeable so anything could be in there ... head for a hill and you'll know immediately if it's a DF  What carburettor is fitted ? A DF won't have a Pierburg on it.

Thanks Ian..... getting it serviced this week - so will look for that hill once running better (and ask about the Pierburg!)
