Connections of the vacuumsystem? Had the same symptoms a few years back. Under load the connections of the vacuumhoses can break loose. Another thing to look for is the small plug on the back ( ie front faced) side of your carb.

Make sure the balance pipe between the carbs is in good condition and the rubber connectors are in good condition with no cracks

Fuel wet or oil wet ?

I'm going to assume fuel, so pull those plug leads off and make sure there's a nice blue spark at each plug

Hi there,
I had a similar problem in my Aircooled van a while back and just to reiterate Tobydog's suggestion, cleaning the fuel filter and crap out of the carbs did the trick.
Good luck.

No dirt in the carbs, put some different ones on still much the same, prob still got original coil and distributor on, might treat it to a powerspark set of these, are these any good /recommended? Tia.

Well, you can take the Kwik Fit approach, but it's an expensive route to diagnosis.

I would focus on the symptoms you have. Wet plugs on 2 & 3. Now, they are different cylinder banks and different carbs, therefore unlikely to be a sudden problem with a carb.

Plugs wet with fuel means no ignition, but you say there is a good spark. Did you test the spark with the same plugs, or did you leave them in the heads and use different plugs ?

Swap the plugs over, do the wet spark plugs follow the spark plugs or stay with the cylinder ?

Did you check the balance pipe / hoses ?

Powerspark every time...less than the cost of a hall sensor and amp.

Use Simon BBC on E bay
