When I bought my Speedshop exhaust the advice regarding the oil filter seemed to be to fit a Polo filter (W712/52) which is ~43mm shorter than the T25's standard W719/12. But the bypass pressure is different (2.5 Bar versus 1.0 Bar), so it's not a particularly good match.

There is a better match - the W713/19 (as fitted to e.g. a 1.8 TD Mondeo) is only 23mm shorter than the original (100mm versus 123mm), and has the same bypass pressure. I've been using these since fitting the exhaust, and they seem fine.

The only slight hesitancy I have about recommending these is that I have a thermostatic sandwich plate rather than the stock oil cooler, and I think the sandwich plate is a few mm thinner than the stock oil cooler. So I can't be 100% certain that a 23mm shorter filter will fit.

Thread resurrection!

The Mann W713/19 (or Mahle OC 203) also gives much-needed clearance when fitting a thermostatic sandwich take-off and the CSP Python exhaust system.

Great photo - has given me much more hope in getting my sandwhich plate to fit without using the oil cooler/warmer.

Need to dig out the box of bits but think the plate I have similar to this. Hoping there’s enough clearance or may consider using a relocation kit.
