Gear stick ‘click’ mystery

Post by sonnyhowell »

Ok so I have a strange ‘click’ that happens in my gear stick

After setting off in first (5 speed dog leg) after maybe 10 seconds of being out of 1st....there is a click

If I change back into 1st before the click happens there is no resistance moving the stick to the left to engage 1st gear

Anyone else get this? Shed any light?

Thanks in advance mega brains

Sounds like the detent ball bearing/spring is getting stuck before popping back into place. It could just be gunked up and need cleaning.
