Looking around for some top quality rear wheel bearing kits.
CVC and Heritage etc list them as quality, but are not saying who the manufacturers are,
JK also say theirs are quality.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy some SKF ones?
Or comment on what to do, I will ring CVC in the morning and see who their manufacturer is.
(Brickwerks are out of stock at the mo)
Thanks

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings supplier
A few years go SKF kits had Torringron branded outer rollers. Those were loose by new.
FAG kits were really good, they had INA rollers, those were a bit tight to install, but no looseness on the shaft.
Not sure how they are nowadays.

inner bearing is standard 6207/C3 so easy to buy that in SKF from any bearing suppliers, it's the outer that is a special 308-203 in Timken/Torrington numbers, there are only a few manufacturers of that, and few UK stockists
I found the Torringtons to be excellent fit

Depends on the length of the spacer fitted, if it is the longer spacer then F43710.1 bearing.Aidan wrote: it's the outer that is a special 308-203 in Timken/Torrington numbers, there are only a few manufacturers of that,

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings supplier
Yes I noticed that Bern Jager sells SKF but very expensive,
also seems to be the only one suggesting and supplying a sleeve,
is that what you meant by a spacer?
Is that a good idea?
Theres a fair bit of talk about bearing fit and housing ovaling..
Is the sleeve going to help?

What Jäger calls a Sleeve is a translation of Hülse - we call them Spacers.
77 € does not sound too expensive to me, it will be a bit more when the shipping costs are added.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings supplier
that's a special bearing from INA all F prefix bearings are specials and getting hold of specials from LUK/INA is a complete pain in the rear they are such a pain to deal with and very few bearing specialists carry stockF43710.1
there is only one size of spacer between the two bearings afaik same one as on bay 211 501 281 E
