making progress!.

Post by philmcC »

Finally managed to locate the distributor driveshaft on its gear. I found it impossible to do with the shims in place on the shaft. I placed them where they should be using a magnet on a stick, then detaching the magnet by pressing down on the shims with a chopstick!. Worked really easily though I was nervous that I might flick them into the crankcase. Distributor then assembled and pointing in the right direction. Fuel pump went on very easily.
Now tackling the carburettor to clean and install the refurb kit.
Plan is to put the engine together so that I can run it before putting it in my van. I am a beginner!. Going to use the stand that I already have with a few extra tubes.philmcC
