Locking engine 1.9 DG engine with auto box

Post by Savara »

Hi folks. I need to replace the crank pulley oil seal which means locking the engine somehow in order to undo the crank pulley bolt. As it's an auto box, anyone know the best way to go about it? The picture shows a screwdriver shoved in the gap in the bellhousing, I just wanted confirmation that I'm not going to bugger things up doing it this way!

single pulley or tripple pulley?
the latter is very tight.

I was advised to rotate it and a bolt head will appear (here you've got the screwdriver wedged) and a long socket can be attached - worked well for me
