Post by andy.g »

New poster long time reader, but now need help. I have a T25 1.9DG engine, been off the road for about
a year. It requires an exhaust and an MOT. Long story short, struggling to find anyone to do the work.
I live in Forfar Scotland and just wondering if anyone can suggest were to take it. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I'm hearing more, and more stories of garages and service centres turning T25 work away, especially engine work.

You get a couple of young lads at your local exhaust or service centre to try to remove your exhaust, they snap the exhaust studs in your heads, they are then left with a major headache, that they are probably unlikely to be geared up to sort.

That's the stuff I'm hearing lots of just lately.

Got to be an opportunity for someone though. Where there’s rust there’s brass (possibly)

I'm with you on that, last MOT exhaust was patched but advised needs replacing next time but couldn't do it for the exact example you gave and they couldn't find anyone else to do it

Hi,
Back in 2014 I needed some engine work doing and went to Aird Motors in Beauly. I realise that's a long way for you but they did a good job and there was a mechanic there who had worked a lot on T25s over the years.
