New Distributor or Halls Sensor

Post by salgarfi »

Hello All,

My T25 fuel injected 2.1 (DJ) Waterbox needs a new Hall Sensor. Unfortunately, my mechanics can't source one, so failing that, they have been looking into a new distributor, but they can't source that either. VW Heritage and Just Kampers don't seem to have any, so do any of you good folks have any ideas on what we/they should do?

Well.., I've sent a message to Brickwerks to ask when the item will be in stock. I hope it won't be too long?

powerspark do a gemeric replacement dizzy but far bettr to hold out for a hall sender because a generic dizzy won't be as good.
The other possability is to source a DG dizzy and take the hall sender out

Don't think they have looked that hard:

https://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Shop_b ... ender.html Pricey, but they have them.

https://www.vwheritage.com/035998065-ha ... e-vw-spare and they have 5 in stock at a slightly better price.

Or Just Krapers have them too, but I'm not linking to them!

Thanks for all of this. Re the sensor from VW Heritage, the garage enquired of them, but they were told that there were none in stock. Interesting? Anyway, it being 5:43 right now, I've emailed this info to the garage and hopefully something can come of it.

Thanks everybody!

They are cheaper on eBay.

The problem is they need the plug on the loom changing which is hard to find at the moment
VW part number 052 905 327
Bosch part number 1 234 485 024

The distributor body also needs modifying to take the larger width socket. Cut the body equidistant to either side of the original slot to 17.5mm wide

If you want to pay the money, there’s a genuine NOS Hall Sensor here from Germany:

Thanks everyone! I've sent this whole page to my local garage. Hopefully, between us we'll sort something out. Thanks again!
