Optimum oil temp for draining oil on WBX

I am going to do another self DIY oil change on my WBX. What is the best oil drain temperature on a WBX. I tend to let the water temperature gauge get to 1/4 (IE about 11 o'clock), is this the right rule of thumb for best WBX oil drain?

Best for what, draining the oil or not burning yourself ?

I did mine Friday, engine was at full temperature.

Don't forget to fill the filter with oil and wipe the sealing ring when fitting

I take mine for a run out and get it up to normal temp. When I get back I switch off, get the drain pan and new oil etc ready, have a quick brew and then crack on. The oil is hot, but not hot enough to strip the skin off your fingers...

Just hope the sump plug winds in ok, last year the thread wasn't great, a garage damaged the first few threads.

Mine didn't feel great either when removing, just make sure it is straight and gently wind it in, back and forth a bit like tapping if necessary. After the first tight point mine was fine all the way home. Better using a T-bar rather than a ratchet

Bought a new sump plug last year (previous was getting rounded), but starting it threadwise didn't appear to be smooth, but it wound in kind of ok, I do have the odd drip (plug might not be perpendicular), but I only nipped it up with a ratchet, as I was concerned about over tightening the plug, so might not of crushed washer enough? I have a torque wrench now, so see how this goes!
