Making progress, both cylinder heads on oil pump and water pump, all going well. Seem to have a problem fitting the distributor driveshaft. Doesn't go in far enough to engage with gear. Advice would be gratefully received.philmcC

Ordered a distributor drive extractor today from Coolair VW. I'm hoping this will help me to fit it back in as having no success so far. You have to pay full amount for the extractor, but if you return it within 45 days in good nick and original packing they only charge a £7.50 rental fee.
I was worried about fitting the Marco Mansi 3 O-ring oil pump, but it fitted beautifully without a problem. philmcC
