They're not specialists but I've just been for an MOT at Lower Stratton Service Station and they were friendly, knowledgeable, and appreciative of classic vehicles.
Best place I've been in Swindon by far.

OK thanks for the tip but think I may need a specialist - the odometer has stopped working in a van I sold to someone who lives in Swindon. Speedometer is still working so I am looking for a garage that may be able to take out speedometer and check what problem is.
I have read a bit and see it is normally caused by trip being reset whilst van is moving and cogs may be misaligned and need reseating and fixing in place so looking for a garage / someone that could help them ?

Cheers,
Dave

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm also on the hunt for a camper 'friendly' MOT garage in Swindon. Do you use guys recommend this place?

Thanks

Just found this post: in the end did anyone recommend a T25 garage in the Swindon area?

I was using one in Swindon, (originally recommended on this site about 10 years ago!) but I think they have changed their staff as I've not been happy that the current mechanics know their way around a T25 (e.g used wrong handbrake cable, missed a coolant leak etc.)

Hi,

I ended up using Lower Stratton Service Station but it was only for an MOT.

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'll start with a big thanks to all the regular posters for their helpful knowledge. I have a 1980 Devon Moonraker and I had the problem with the odometer. I believe it's a common issue and I fixed mine with a bit of super glue! The cog that runs the odometer was split and would just spin on the spindle. I realise you are not with the van but thought the info might be of use.
Cheers, Jed.
