T25 repairs in France

Post by hunter70 »

Hi all sad story really , I`m now in my 70s and owned my 81 T25 1600 A/C for 11yrs , I bought her over here in France and have had a wonderful time in my little Camper doing all the work myself as I was a time served Mechanic so you can imagine front to back repairs and she`s never failed it`s MOT that`s good what sad is now I`m snookered , oil leaks have got so bad , I`ve replace all the gaskets I can , the breather is clear and pressure valve intact so no worries of oil pressure or back pressure and motor still runs fine but,, all across the top and bottom of the motor it`s covered in oil leaving a trail wherever I`ve been and of course all up over the rear I can see the obvious push tubes are part to blame but the most oil appears to be from the pulley end thinking Crankshaft seal or pump gaskets , either way it`s motor out job , I can`t do that sort of work any more but there dos`nt seem to be any Flat four specialist within reach of here at all in the Charente . I`ve even tried French VW forums and got tiddly squad help or concern , so trying British sites , I know there are Brit VW Lads over here perhaps monitor this forum but here`s my question where are they ?, Take care , Rob..

Correct. John (Sarran1955) lives at Sarran about 135 miles or about 2 hours from you. He's a T3 wizard. Send him a pm and I am sure he can assist.
