Yes I thought that might be the suggestion. Would you know of any mechanics in or around Worcestershire that could fix the head?

Having built many engines myself, my preferred route is to find a running engine in reasonable condition, swap out the existing one then repair the leaky one - less pressure that way as you can still drive around. However, quite a few have changed the seals themselves (in situ). Not too bad a job.
