1.6 ct clutch

Post by triggermala »

Hi, this is my first post so hope someone can help. I need to replace the long bracket type thing that the clutch cable hooks into on the back of the clutch and break pedal assembly, been told they are only on the early 1.6 ct engine vans. Does anyone know where I can get one new or second hand, may have to have the whole pedal assembly if I have to as without this part the van is off the road. For some reason the original snapped in half and is distorted. Some on another forum suggested straightening out and welding but there is another crack in the metal which I think if straightend would break. Anyone breaking a 1.6 ct van or know of someone who could fabricate one for me.

Hi, does anyone have a good clear picture of the front end of the clutch cable and all of the components that go onto it before it goes through the cab floor and hooks back into the bracket at the back of the clutch pedal.

Thanks, I have seen that one , and have ordered 5 and 6 from Brickwerks but still waiting for them to come in. I have saw another diagram but these 2 parts are not on there so still a bit confused as to which one is correct, also what goes on over the cable first the o ring or grommet.

The other diagram I have seen on 7zap.com the cable has a grommet as well as the o ring, which one is correct as I have ordered replacement parts. Also the hole in the cab floor where the cable comes through is quite large and has splitting around the inner edge which needs to be welded. How large should this hole be and how much of the cable conduits should protrude in to the cab.
