Fuel flow to/from Pierburg 2E
Hello again,
I've looked at countless pics of pierburg carb set ups etc but can't see a clear pic of following.
My fuel feed from pump is to lower point and return to tank on upper. Is this correct?
Thanks for any and all help.
PS I will be adding clamps to lines once I know they are correct.

don't recognise that carb, maybe an extra filter bolted on but it's not a standard T3 2e3
can you zoom out so we can see the whole carb, what number on the side?

Hi,
I tried taking outlet from pump to 'fuel inlet' as per your diagram but no change. Pump is working, battery fully charged, good cranking (if that's such a thing). It sounds like it just needs fuel to flow.
Worth pointing out I'm feeding pump from funnel as tank is not yet connected, I was trying a test start up. Wiring all looks to be correct as per pics/diagrams/Haynes manual.
This is an engine etc I've fitted myself and I'm about as far from a mechanical expert as you can get!
Time for a grass cutting break.

Good evening,
I'll post some more info and pics tomorrow. I'm working though one of your replies (Itchy) from way back in 2014 to double check the wiring is correct, I'm now not at all convinced it is.

Looks like I'll have to persevere as no local garage was interested in coming to take a look!
Read through old threads in bed last night and this is what I've done/noticed.
Rotated dizzy to approx correct position, no 1 at 4 o'clock. Rotor arm looked different to others on here and didn't always seem to turn with flywheel and needed pushing back down into position.
I've got 12V to coil and 12V to black lead in bundle of 4 from engine bay black box, the red wire however is not getting 12V out from black box and is definitely getting 12V in. Could be issue with relay and/or wiring.
I tried bodging by adding all 12V carb requirement into the one black cable I knew was getting 12V, it did not help.
Should all 12V carb connections be getting 12V with ignition at position one or only when engine is running.
Huge thanks to anyone taking time to respond, if you happen to be near Bo'ness (near Falkirk) feel free to visit.

Oh Oh I'm back on this thread!
Between the Haynes manual and online pics I've got a bit mixed up. Apologies for length of text, I'm keen to get everything wired up correctly.

Using your image & Haynes (Bentley seemed very different) and 5 wires for engine bay from black box would I be correct in assuming;
Black wire (has 12V with ignition at position 1) to either spade on thermo switch / Lilac & Black wire to other spade on thermo switch (now has 12V with ignition at position one and assume cuts off when temp is reached) - spur off black wire to Idle Cut Off to give 12V with ignition at position 1.
Red wire to Choke Heater, Manifold Heater and Throttle Body Heater (this is from Haynes if I'm reading it correctly and differs slightly from your pic). I have no power to red wire at present, should this have 12V with ignition at position 1 or only when engine is running - I understand it is linked to the Lilac & Black wire via the relay in the black box.
0.3 Bar pressure switch under push rods from blue/black wire - this has 12V with ignition at position 1
Coolant temp switch (old style cooling system) from yellow/red wire - with ignition at position 1
Not sure if this is correct as Haynes looks slightly different,

Set up as above red wire now gets 12V with engine running and engine is running well - definitely time to add some coolant!
