early and late engine carriers.

Post by maxstu »

Early DG mounts carrying late DJ Engine
Below shows mounts for early version. The two bolts holes go in to engine casing either side of crank pulley at 7and 5 oclock. On later engines these mount holes are blanked off.
Was about to mount a later spare engine and totally forget this difference. I do have late engine bearer but am 60 miles away from home.
Can l adapt early to late without any additional parts? Are the blanking holes in late engine thin tin which l can poke out and find threaded holes behind?

Just tested blanks. Feel solid

Thanks

Saves me riding back to Margate though.
