Engine stalling

Post by Circoloco »

As above, when we start the camper it keeps cutting out. We were able to drive it if we kept the revs high. Put in the garage to look into the issue, the carbs were rebuilt but it's worse now? Any ideas? Thanks

Is the crossover pipe between the carbs at the back of the engine and rubber connections all intact without leaks ?

Thanks for the reply...Not sure, we're new to all this but just been reading it could be an air leak. How would we test this? Will the have visible damage? Really hoping we can sort out and the engine isn't knackered!

Metalpipe across the back of the engine, connected to the carbs using rubber flexis.

Design is much better on the CU engine than the original type 4 cars (411 / 412), but can still fail.

You're looking for cracks in the rubber hoses or jubilee clips not properly securing the pipe that would allow air in

I doubt it will be serious
