2.1 Automatic gear box issues

Post by Euroboy »

hi All,

just looking for some guidance please .. i have 1990 Caravelle with an Auto box that has started to develop problems in reverse and has stopped holding in Drive,

I have replaced the oil ( which it needed ) gasket and strainer, closer inspection shows that the linkage is worn and wobbly so i'm hoping that is where the issue lies,

my question : is there anyone on here i could talk to regarding Auto box's :ok

thanks in advance

Sorry mate no good recommendations. Had mine rebuilt twice by different repairers. First one a disaster, second expensive and involved buying unnecessary parts plus nearly three months in the garage. Fixed by trial and error and a valve body courtesy of Rob. Having said that they did someone elses auto and she had no problems

Auto gearbox update...
“Automatic Transmission specialists” at Hilton in Derbyshire, gave them a call, took it over, left it for a week, collected it, drove it home, all good ....
I dealt with a guy called Lee and they didn’t seem to flinch at working on a 1990 vehicle
They have a branch at Manchester also
No dramas :ok
