Short shift kit adjustment

Post by captain Byrne »

After fitting a short shift kit I now struggle to get it into reverse. It's almost as if the gear stick is going too far over, so I have to bring it back a tad before it'll engage.
Can anyone offer any advice on adjustment please? (It's a 5 speed box if that's any help). Ta.

check that when in neutral with the selector ball pushed gently in against the stop at the gearbox end that the fork below the gearstick is centred in both planes relative to the guide blocks, you may need to loosen the centre pinch bolt on the linkage and adjust the linkage to achieve this and check that the gearstick plate above the floor (or false floor on the diesel is correctly adjusted, usually that means that the two m6 studs are at opposite ends of their slots
