Could this be the clutch cable?

Post by Karen&co »

Hello knowledgeable people.

I got in our 1.9l water cooled van yesterday having not driven it for a few weeks. Hubby assures me it was fine last time it was driven but the clutch felt very light with no resistance when putting my foot on the peddle.

Could this be the clutch cable? I didn't try driving as I had an appointment and needed to get there so will try again today

Thank you

You don’t have a clutch cable , it is hydrolic so check the fluid level first , then look for the leak !

Remove the instrument cluster panel to access the fluid reservoir (combined brake / clutch)

I agree if it was short on fluid or had air in the line you should have difficulty in getting into gear without crunching.
