I'm sure it's fine but if you don't buy something else you will get charged delivery

Got ours from wilko, a known brand ( though ive forgot) , they sell it in litre bottles very good price.

Thanks guys I needed up ordering it as we had some other things we needed to do we got free delivery :ok how often do you all change your gearbox oil

Change it every 3 years - make sure you can undo the filler nut first & be prepared for one of the worse smells known to man (if it’s never been changed)!!

Hopefully we can get it off I have bought a new plug and megnetic plug to replace the old ones. Oh no really we’re not looking forward to the smell we will let you know how it smells I’m thinking it’s never been changed

take a pic of the drain plug magnet and post it up here as well... good luck..

Filling is a PIA. I use a length of garden hose stuffed in the fill hole, with a funnel on the end, and fill from above the wheelarch.
1981 Vanagon Westy Burning oil as fuel...

I give up, I've googled " dilibeey" but can't find out what it is. Some sort of snake oil?

Personally I would go 75W80 & not 80W90..better cold gear changes...of course VW used a single 80 weight GL4 gear oil but things have moved on and the slightly lower cold viscosity definitely helps old worn syncro's from cold (same viscosity when hot)

Also...these were 'filled for life' but that was with an 12 - 15 year life expectation.
Realistically 40K or 4 year changes will be fine as gear oil doesn't become contaminated in the same way as engine oil.
