New stainless coolant pipes (behind the pulley) have now arrived from Brickwerks - just got to dig out the connecting silicone hose i bought about 3 years ago!

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Well, just awaiting on the engine bar to come back from the powder coaters then she’s ready to fit.
Quick question boys and girls - are there any procedures to take with the DG prior to starting up the engine for the first time?
Any advice much appreciated!

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Have you checked the pushrods are seated correctly and set the preload?

Preload of 2 turns completed - as far as aware the pushrods are all seated correctly, however, I’ve seen that you check yours by USB Paul and for the price may get one ordered just to double check.

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Have you moved the distributor setting or the drive cog?
fill oil filter before fitting, disconne t black from coil and crank for say 15 seconds to get oil through.
reconnect coil and start.
then top up coolant.

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Cheers Paul, dizzy setting all tickety boo as it wasn’t moved. Great advice re the king lead, will crank as stated to build up the pressure. Looking forward to getting the damn thing in now and fitting the new exhaust. Will drive it about 300 miles to bed everything in and then re-change the oil/filter.

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Don’t guess the cranking. The oil light on the dash will go out when the oil pressure is up. Then you can reconnect king lead. At This stage pop 10ml fuel directly into the Venturi of the carb. Saves the fuel pump having to pull up fuel all the way from the tank. Get it up to temp, set the idle to 900rpm then follow itchy’s timing procedure. Good Luck.

Thanks Double O and for everyone’s help and assistance - I’ll get some pics up once it’s all fitted. Will hopefully be within the next two/three weeks as have quite a bit on!

Thought i'd post up a few pics of a few more bits due to go back on:
Sneaky peek at a shot blasted and freshly powder coated engine bar with new old stock end caps:
Untitled by Justin C, on Flickr
Front Bumper all blasted and powder coated in Satin Black:

Quietlife fire retardant soundproofing sheet from ASAP supplies to re-pack out the inside of the engine lid as has been done by various members on here. Needs to be cut down to size and i have the old soundproofing as a template. Took a couple of pics so you can see the thickness:

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
Looking forward to it's first start-up mate. Yours and mine.
Thanks for the spare barrel, it's now in my engine.
Just checking in case I've got it wrong but are your engine mounts the wrong way up? I know the carrier is upside down but...

Re: 300CE WBX Repair
I'm not sure mate, that's how it's always been and it all fits correctly - maybe someone can shed some light on it?!
Engine should be going back in this weekend!! Glad the barrel was all good and that it's going to keep another bus on the road!

Mine might but SWMBO has plans for us.
Only fair I suppose as I've been a garage hermit for a while now.
P.S. that engine bar looks great.
