Hi all,
Ive been away in Central America for a few months and have just got back and still need to fix this! I've got one thing left to try and that's renewal all the wiring from the pump to the relay and coil.

What have I done so far:-
Checked for leaks/blockages - none
Checked the electric pump - working
Replaced the relay
Replaced the coil

It runs if I connect the pump to a separate 12V supply directly, but not when connected via relay and coil. Whilst I think it unlikely there is a break in the wire I can't think of any other reason the pump doesn't work.

Any ideas if changing the wiring doesn't work?

Have you bought a multimeter yet ?

I do have a multimeter now, although I can't remember where I packed it!

Well, I suppose it's a start :)

When you find your meter check for 12v at the terminal 30 connection where the relay goes, you might need to be cranking the engine when carrying out the test.

If there's 12V there, the problem is in the wiring from terminal 87. Check the connections on the back of the relay mount, is there evidence of overheating, then work to the pump ?

Otherwise if there isn't 12V, then trace back from the relay to the battery. Either way you can check for 12V at each point and avoid randomly changing wiring.
