228mm WBX clutch - 2 types?

Post by itchyfeet »

I'm confused if the WBX is the same and the flywheel the same and the gearboxes interchangeable why is there a late 2.1 WBX clutch version? what is different?

228mm 3 piece clutch kit to suit later 1.9l WBX engines and earlier 2.1l WBX engines.
If you have a DG with a 228mm clutch it's this one!
If you have a MV/DJ before april '89 (VIN 24-K-097046) then it's this one!
Also fits 2.0l Aircooled (CU) engine

228mm 3 piece clutch to suit later 2.1l engines from chassis numbers WV2ZZZ25KH097047 onwards / April '89 onwards.

Rumour has it that the later 228 had a stronger diaphragm/higher torque rating
