1.9 DG engine

Post by philmcC »

Having read and enjoyed all the threads about rebuilding WBX engines, I took the plunge and bought one, pretty well blind. 1988 vintage I will get it in a couple of weeks. Interested to know what I will find inside. I will have to learn how to post photos. What's the easiest way?.philmcC

@Itchy - from the few posts I've seen of yours, you are a bit of a serial rebuilder! Can you steer me towards a build thread that covers water jacket seals mate? I've just bought a wbx powered van and there's coolant leaking from the casings at the jacket joint. I've looked around but my search skills must be particularly crap.

Also, can you just replace the jacket seals on there own? Or is there a bigger list to get out of the job? I'm a pretty inexperienced mechanic to be honest so the less I can screw up the better. :rofl

I did a picture guide with a few words...( photobucket is full of adverts so the flickr link is probably better)
http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 2#p8163832" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

links to most rebuild threads I have found on page 1 of my wbxlog build thread...
http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... lit=wbxlog" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

yes you can do jysf head seals but there are 14 of them to do it properly.

Happy to answer any questions.
