Push rod seals

Post by henryb »

Hi I need some advice about push rod seals. I have a 1.9dg (1989) T25 and have heads off, the push rod seals that came off are white, but the ones I have just received are black and there is a height
difference, wondering if I use them it won't seal as well as the white ones, are they meant to be white? Thanks

are you reising old pushrod tubes? you know you have to extend them?
Personally I would reccomend scat big mouth telescopic tubes at 70 quid a set from VVHeratige, you then can change tappets if you get a duff or noisy one, comes with seals.

if you are on a budget reusing is fine .

Where did you get black seals from?

Hi Itchy, yes im re using the tubes already in these, the black ones are from vw heritage, it says they are for 1.9 wbx but theres a definate height difference and they are black? told them this and they sent out some more that are exactly the same?

Thanks

you would have to get a pic up of height difference but as the tubes co press my guess without seeing them is they are ok.
colour doesn't matter its the material that matters, they should feel like silicone, not hard and chalky.

Order from brickwerks next time :D
