Solex carbs refurb or replace?

Post by paperhouselad »

Hi, our 82 Aircooled 2 lt needs a good tune up but first the carbs, solex, either need a refurb, or replacing with the same or something dlfferent. Any suggestions which way to go, very much appreciated.

This is a minefield and everyone has different experiences.

I replaced my twin Solex with twin Webers. Ever since it has been a revelation - only issue is no chokes on the Webers.....
