Can anyone confirm - 1.9/2.1 manifold differences

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Can anyone confirm - 1.9/2.1 manifold differences

Post by ash1293 »

I've been having a bit of a look around and I'm trying to find a definitive answer on differences between late 1.9 and 2.1 exhaust manifolds.
While I am considering a custom stainless system in the future it seems a shame at the present as the silencer and link pipe back to the knuckle are relatively new. 1&3 pipe is decidedly dodgy and will be in need of repair or replacement while 2&4 may patch ok.

I can't see any reason non syncro 2.1 manifold pipes should fit the 1.9 but if anyone can confirm that would be great.

There is no difference , other than the lambda probe port if injection , which can be blanked if not used in the intermediate pipe , other than that all exactly the same

May risk a klarius 1&3 as seen as low as £63

The main difference is that on the carb version (therefore 1.9) the 1&3 side has an air intake preheater around it for the airbox to draw warmed air in very cold climates (helps cold running/anti carb icing). Not needed on injection models, or even carb models in our climate for that matter. So either version will fit either engine.

Some of the really cheap ones are a rubbish fit, tried one from eurocarparts sent it back, it had no bracket under bellhousing and would have touched gearbox.
