high oil pressure 4 bar

I've got a T25 1988 2.1 DJ inj caravelle

My oil light has started to flash once engine is warm after about 10 mins!!!!!!
So I checked the oil pressure and its 4 bar when I rev it, it changed to 5 bar!!!!
Turned it off and I'm a little bit scared about driving it..

I've looked into it and it looks like it might be the oil pressure valve but not sure....

Any ideas.....

Faulty low pressure switch perhaps, oil light flashing happens before engine started when switch is closed, if switch closes when engine running it would only happen below 0.25bar.

switch is between pushrod tubes

Forgot to say fit a new one as old one was leaking..

You fitted a new one already?
Then you got the light coming on?
Where did you buy the switch?

cant remember were I bought it.
think it was off ebay.
but when I checked the oil pressure it was leaking again though the middle.

don't but parts off ebay is my reccomendation,
I use Brickwerks or VW Heratige only

Buy a new switch off Brickwerks ( link above) fit it and if you still have the fault you can be sure it's not the switch.

Stay off ebay for engine parts

You need the blue 0.35bar oil pressure switch.
