Replacement Idle Air Control Valve

Post by AllTheGear_NoIdea »

Does anybody know, would an Idle Control Valve part no 037906457C for a VW Corrado / Passat 1.8 2.0 work on our engines?

The part no:s are the same apart from the letter on the end, should be an “A’ rather than a “C”. because they are available on Ebay and are a lot cheaper than if you are lucky enough to find an original one but normally for silly money.

I don't know for sure but I would imagine that it'd be fine.. the letter on the end of a VW part number is for the revision of the part, if the part number is the same then it should work fine.

Thanks, I might order one and try it. I cleaned mine out on the weekend with carb cleaner as it was not humming and I have very high idle speed at the mo, but even after cleaning it is still not humming with the ignition on so i think it might be dead.
