Wiper Arms

Post by freckvan1 »

Allright lads,

Received new wiper arms from Heritage, expected same as previous ones, but no.

These from Heritage are made for and from South Africa for the T25 and have the spindle nut cap as part of the arm itself.
Observed the female boss which locates on splined drive shaft has no splines.

Rang Heritage who told me that theses are genuine VW, which is correct, and interchangeable with the original type. Not had a cihance to have a trial fit as it's persisting down at moment.

Order was for 255 955 409 this is correct and in Heritage parts catalogue.
What I have received and stamped on Wiper Arm is 22S 955 407 .

Now has anyone else come across this before and is there a body of opinion that confirms this interchangeability?
Thanks,
Chris

22S 955 407 is the right number for a South African wiper arm, which is for a rhd van as that's all they made, don't see why it wouldn't fit as am fairly sure the wiper spindles are the same.

They are the the right ones for RHD, there are no splines cut into the arm the spindle splines dig into the arm and make there own.
