Steering Fluid for T25 California 1.6TD

Post by wbmkk »

Hi

Just noticed today that the steering fluid is approaching the minimum level.

Which steering fluid is needed please.

I have a 1989 turbo diesel T25 .. water cooled

thank you

ps. The van is due a service in August, but I would prefer (and probably need to) top this up before then

ATF, the red stuff available from motor factors. If the level is slowly going down this suggests a loss somewhere, so I'd be having a close look at the rack and pipework. Rack seal kits are still available, so if it comes to it you can have your rack overhauled. Possibly worth planning this in anyway due to its age, and while the seals are still available.
