T25 garage or mechanic needed, Glasgowish

Post by jamorris »

Hello all, I have had a T25 for about 6 months, I expected a few things to be wrong with it, but it just never stops I am constantly discovering new (old) faults which I used to take satisfaction in sorting out myself, but I am utterly exasparated now with bodywork and engine issues. Can anyone recommend a mechanic or garage near me that will have the experience to deal with a T25 without clearing out my ever-diminishing bank account? I am in Cambuslang, south east edge of Glasgow. I am willing to travel a bit but if not soon it will be a towtruck job, as the engine has started ticking like a comedy bomb.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Not quite Glasgow pal but DTH (Clackmanishire I think) had nothing done personally, but I've heard great reviews.

We use David Mylett Motors in Thornliebank industrial park. reasonably priced for MOTs, service and repairs. Our local garages just farmed out work on our van so dumped them and went to David. I'm not sure about body work though at DMM - I think he's just straight mechanical. Our '87 DG 1.9l is fortunately nae in need of body work. Been using DMM for 3 yrs now for the van plus other two VWs

Thanks, I'll hold that in reserve, as the Thornliebank recommendation is much nearer by.

Sounds good to me, Thornliebank is't far away at all. The bodywork will have to wait.
