It took the garage a whole day, I had replaced the rear brake back plates 2 years before so everything came undone (the inner CVs fit through the hole in the arm so the brakes don't need to be stripped down), they replaced the solid brake pipes across both the trailing arms, retaining clips, bushes, nuts and bolts as I requested and supplied the parts.

The castor and camber needs to be reset which is a specialist job, not something you can really do at home.

Yep got the report back and it's big money time...again. No rust on mount through.

The told me it would fail on rust and I think they're talking about the bung hole. Would that really be enough to fail. Going to refit the bung and I bet it'll be OK

Crazyhorse: Still vague but it seems no less than £1500. I'm getting it back to check myself what they've found. They also said that the rear brake (not MOT failure) was squealing and they thought fluid was getting on it. Never heard it myself but I know the belt slips occasionally so I'll change that and we'll see

Just got under and had a look. MOT tester must have gone to war on my van with a screwdriver, 2" hole in the inner arch where there was nothing visible before. Are they allowed to do that?
