vwt25 petrol watercooled transporter

question, can anyone help ive spent my last pennies on our van ,had it all looked at the garage ,I took her out for a spin it felt fine then took her out again ,came back home it seemed to be revving fast and the engine is very hot does anyone know what I can do,i am no macanic but i can do some things if its not that hard. Thanks in Advance.

How do you mean hot? Where was it on the gauge? Check for sticky throttle cable and make sure nothing is on the peddle (build up of crap)
Try oiling the cable, might help? Sticky carb? That's most of the easy bits I think. Does it drive lumpy? Choke stuck on?
