Front brake pipe replacement

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Front brake pipe replacement

Post by mbcamper »

I've had an MOT advisory that my inner front brake pipes are slightly corroded. This isn't something I intend on ignoring, so I'll be placing an order tomorrow with Brickwerks.

Now I've had a look under the van and found that the pipes both originate from a T piece which is accessible on the passenger side just above the tank. I can see that replacing the passenger pipe isn't going to be a problem, but the other (drivers side) is routed over the top of the fuel tank. My initial assessment is that the job should be possible without dropping the tank.

I'm really temped to just get my garage to fix, but if the tank definitely needs to be dropped I'll do the job myself to save the massive labour costs.

Thoughts?

Mark
