1.6td auxiliary water pump sender testing

Post by quattrodave »

I'm pretty sure I've never heard the aux water pump running, when I earth the sender cable the pump runs so it all seems good.
Is there any way to test the sender itself or is it a case of replacement ?
Thanks

Shouldn't it be a switch not a sender?

Check it for continuity whilst holding the end over a flame. But if you are going to take it out to test it you may as well stick a new one in £3.50 -£6.50 depending upon early or late.

Thanks oldie, yes I think I might as well replace it if I'm removing it anyway. Another job on the never ending list ........
