T25 gear linkage

Hi guys new to the forum help needed
Fitting a Subaru engine and a rebuilt ACW gearbox
Question is I currently have a 4 speed diesel gear linkage set up , but this does not match up to the ACW , can I just change the rear / or last rod in the setup or do I need to change the complete assy ? .
Only just fitted a new fuel tank really don't want to take it out again if I can get away with it .
