1.9 DG to 2.1DJ on LPG

Post by 123-jn »

Well initially there was a noticeable increase in grunt but nothing amazing, although I still have a dodgy tappet after 300 miles the engine has now begun to really show it's colours. I guess when the valves all work properly it will be even better but for anyone thinking of this upgrade it is really worth it. I am now in a position where from 40 mph I can actually contemplate overtaking!!!! Pulling away from a junction she is much faster up to 50 a good few seconds I would say. Hill climbing is better although still not in the league of a decent turbo diesel. AS for fuel economy I can't really tell yet due to the dodgy tappet and still stiff engine. I would guess at present 17-18 mpg . I have an Auto box and it is said that the difference is more noticeable on a manual so If you get a chance go for it!!!! It brings a smile to my face every time I hit the loud pedal!!!
