vacuum advance / air pipe / 2.1 petrol a bit gutless

Post by hightop ratty »

Had my 2.1 petrol (running my old pierburg) about 5 to 6 years (had a refurbished carb from Bromyard about 2 years ago - so much better running - the change is unreal ! - can't remember the last time it actually cut out :-)
The only issue I have is feels a bit gutless - trying go, but holding back - used to fly (when) the old carb was on there.
done all new petrol pipes / filters (the brickwerks all inclusive kit).
Been wondering if its the vacuum advance (mine has 2 pipes on it - one was left open originally - i've since blocked that off with vacuum pipe).
Would it be easier to change this 1st as last for the ones in brickwerks - how hard will this be to change (my old skool garage - not me).
Am changing the brake vacuum pipe on the weekend (as the old one is well past its best),
Can't get a (green label) coil at the minute - but will probably do this when they are back in stock.
Slowly replacing stuff & reliability getting better.
