1.6TD - Brickwerks, long way from Brighton. Alternative?

Post by scottyh56 »

In order to sort out engine issue(s) http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=148460 which have not resulted in anything calamitous (yet), I want to get my 1988 1.6TD T25 to somebody who really, really know their stuff who can diagnose a simpler issue but can deal with a rebuild or sourcing & putting in a 'new' engine if that is what is needed. My regular mechanic who is mobile so does not have have the facilities to do the job has told me that that he thinks this should be the next step. (He does fear the worst....)

I have looked at the Wiki, searched the web. Down here around Brighton we are in Aircooled heaven as far as mechanics are concerned but I cannot find any sign of an equivalent of Brickwerks. I am almost resigning myself to driving all the way up the M25/M1 to Holmfirth at the half term holidays for peace of mind but surely there is an alternative this side of London?

Fingers crossed.....

Thanks

Scott
