No heater

Post by Apex »

any ideas why my heater would just stop giving hot air, the controls seem to be as always, temp of truck driving Is the same as always, the electric fan kicks in at the same time as before. bled the system today to no avail, prior to this ive had no coolant loss or problems, the coolant is the same colour and seems clean.
also this syncro only has 3 levers.
the truck is RHD 2.1petrol 1989 twin cab 16"
any help would be much appreciated as the wife and patterdale miss the hot air.

Heater valve lever may have come loose. Time to slide under the front and see whats going on over the top of the fan. Fiddly job, thanks to VW...

If its not that then the next thing is to check that one end of the cable hasnt dropped off.
Replacement can probably be done with dash in place, but may well be quicker to have it out rather than go the keyhole surgery route.
