Prestone coolant / antifreeze

Post by Tufty_B »

Hello, I've been a bit quiet on here recently but have been keeping an eye a few threads.

I've had a read of the wiki on coolant, however I would like some advice, as I have replaced the radiator thermo switch and now need to top up the coolant.
Does anyone know if it is OK to use Prestone coolant/antifreeze in my 2.1DJ which I believe currently has G11, because the coolant is a blue/green colour, or should I just use G11 for now?
I have some Prestone as an emergency top-up for my more modern cars, so it is on hand and the website states that it is suitable for use with G11, G12, G12+ & G12++. Ultimately the answer will be to flush and fill with either G12++ or possibly the latest G13, but until then I'm just looking at topping the system up and checking everything is OK with the cooling system.

Hopefully I haven't opened up a can of worms.
