I use a trolly jack to lower it.
As for the gaskets I would recommend a quality supplier (Brickwerks) not a camping shop.

it's only about 70KG so do one strap at a time in stages should be fine but you can support if you like with blocks of wood or a jack to stop it going too far.

Well that's my van scrapped then. There is not a chance in hell with my arthritis that I can remove engines, fiddle about with rusted studs and all the other hell this money pit will put me through. I'm assuming garage bills will be thousands too so no chance using that option.
