Thanks Nic, Am going to have a look at weekend and see if it working ok (have to park van away from home at in laws as crabby neighbours), thanks for the advice covkid, am going to check around the inlet manifold gaskets as per silver bullets advice, have a few things to look at now so fingers crossed one of them will do the trick!

When the valve is removed you will see a small hole at the tip
This allows the fuel through.
When the ignition is on
Without power the hole is not visible

Thanks for that Kev, will take it out and have a look, have been up today and replaced and sealed with dirko the inlet manifold gaskets, done to 5btdc, and replaced carb to inlet gasket , sis the suck test on the distributer all ok,
